Here’s a bunch of disclaimers and legal notices that we hope will prevent us from being sued.
1. We Are Not Lawyers And Do Not Offer Legal Advice. We try to guide people and help them cover their butts as best we can with our reasonably decent but definitely lay understanding of various laws. If you want solid legal advice, consult a real attorney. No, we don’t know any.
2. Nothing that appears on this website should be construed as instruction or direct call to action. Again, we may offer suggestions or guidance, but we’re not telling anyone to do anything, nor telling anyone that anything in particular should be done, beyond opposing fascism and authoritarianism.
3. We don’t make any effort to track traffic here other than metrics, but our servers log visits just like any other.
4. Anti-fascism isn’t an organization, it’s an idea. For further information about the individuals behind this particular anti-fascist effort, please visit the “About Us” page.
5. AI tools have been used to draft, research, or refine much of our content. Human beings write it, review it, check research, add their own, and publish it. Our memes and other media often use templates, but not generative AI. While at the time of this writing, we don’t anticipate ever using generative AI to create visual work, if we ever do, it will be clearly labeled and fully disclosed, including any particular reasoning behind our choice to use it.
In writing tools, AI for spelling and grammar correction, phrasing, drafting, research, and so forth have already become nearly ubiquitous and are harder in most cases to avoid using, than to use. We use them, for spell-checking, grammar checking, and generally observing where it puts little lines under words where we might want to consider rewriting or rephrasing. Sometimes we take that suggestion, sometimes we don’t. AI can also condense hours of often fuzzy research into a few seconds and a couple of fact checks, and get identical results which allows us to do things like (for example) assembling draft biographies for dozens of historical figures and using those as launchpads to actually write those bios ourselves while saving a bunch of time on side-work, reducing the overall time from concept to publication from months to days.
At no point are we simply typing a prompt into an AI and then copying and pasting the content back to you as human-created.
